Catt set for Irish bow

England back Mike Catt will make his league debut for London Irish in Saturday’s Zurich Premiership clash against Harlequins at Twickenham.

Catt, who joined Irish from Bath earlier this summer, lines up in midfield alongside Geoff Appleford.

Australian signing Scott Staniforth features on the left wing, and there are also opportunities for the Exiles’ former Saracens forward Kieran Roche and young full-back prospect Delon Armitage.

Irish though, have been hit by injuries for the season opener, with Justin Bishop (hamstring), Declan Danaher (hamstring), Adam Halsey (foot), Rodd Penney (hamstring), Peter Poulos (shoulder) and Doug Wheatley (hand) all unavailable.
