Bowman signs up for Munster
Munster have signed ex-Australian second-row Tom Bowman before the Celtic League deadline.
And the 28 years old 15-times capped Wallaby could feature in the opening game against the Neath-Swansea Ospreys in Swansea on Friday.
“We’re just waiting on a work permit and he will be playing with us sooner rather than later,” a spokesman told the Evening Echo today.
Bowman signed last night in time to register for the Celtic League.
The 6ft-7in 18-and-a-half stone ex-Waratah will also be eligible for the Heineken Cup and his acquisition is a major boost.
“Tom’s an aggressive, skillful player and his experience will be invaluable.”
Bowman was part of Australia’s World Cup winning squad in 1999.
He is well known to Munster coach Alan Gaffney, who had him with New South Wales U21s, and to Jim Williams, a former colleague.
