O'Gara and Sheahan named Munster vice-captains
Out-half Ronan O’Gara and hooker Frankie Sheahan have been named as vice-captains of the Munster rugby side for the coming season following Anthony Foley’s promotion to captain.
Foley, who is the most capped player in the Heineken Cup, takes over the captaincy from Jim Williams, according to the Evening Echo newspaper.
However, Williams is likely to captain Munster for most of the Celtic League campaign with Foley tied up on international duty.
Munster continue their preparations for the Celtic League with two friendly matches over the next two weeks.
Alan Gaffney’s men take on London Irish at Thomond Park on Tuesday week next, August 17. Six days later Munster take on the Newcastle Falcons at the same venue.
