Navan prepares to host High King Tens

More than 36 teams have been confirmed for the fourth annual High King Tens rugby tournament at Navan Rugby Football Club from August 20 to August 22.

More than 36 teams have been confirmed for the fourth annual High King Tens rugby tournament at Navan Rugby Football Club from August 20 to August 22.

Navan RFC welcome back the holders of the senior section “Kukri Crusaders” of Dungannon who will be hoping to defend the title they won last year.

A large number of senior teams have already committed to playing in the High King Tens this year.

Among them are the World rugby league club champions, Bradford Bulls. The Bulls will be sending their academy side which features a number of their younger first team players.

Among the other sides taking part are: Clontarf, Blackrock College, Old Wesley, St Mary’s College, Bective Rangers, DLSP, Garryowen, All-Ireland Police.

All games in the senior section will be played off on the Saturday.

Some junior sides taking part are Dundalk, Coolmine, Newbridge, CYM, Enniskillen, North Kildare, Rathdrum and of course Navan.

Among the participating teams in the women’s section are Blackrock, Boyne, Garda, Dublin University, Old Belvedere, Enniskillen, “Pink Ladies”, Carrickfergus.

Rugby personality George Hook will be the guest speaker to launch the event.
