Scotland suffer Cranston KO

Centre Stephen Cranston will miss Scotland’s tour match against Queensland in Brisbane today after sustaining an ankle injury in training.

The knock is not serious but the 23-year-old’s place on the bench at Ballymore will be taken by Edinburgh’s Marcus Di Rollo.

Head coach Matt Williams has named an inexperienced side with six members of the starting line-up making their first senior starts for Scotland.

Queensland, who finished 10th in the Super 12, named their strongest possible line-up, which includes seasoned Australia internationals Elton Flatley, Wendell Sailor and Chris Latham.

The match, the first of Williams’ “development tour“, kicks off at 10.30am Irish time.
