Lawlor and Halvey axed from squad

Mossie Lawlor and Eddie Halvey were the big losers as Alan Gaffney reduced his Munster squad from 24 to 22.

"It's always tough when you have to tell players they're not in," said Gaffney.

"It goes without saying that it was a close call in both cases, particularly with Mossie who has been playing so well while Eddie has a wealth of experience at this level. But it's very much a squad system and we have to use that squad as best we can."
