Ireland stunned by death of rugby player
Irish rugby was today left reeling by the tragic death of 18-year-old John McCall.
McCall was playing for Ireland against New Zealand in the Under-19 World Cup - staged in South Africa – when he was substituted in the 20th minute and taken to hospital.
The promising back row forward later passed away in St Augustine’s hospital in Durban, although there has yet to be any official announcement on the cause of death.
