Dungannon 15 Clontarf 8

Last season's runners-up Clontarf are still without a win in 2004 as second half tries from Gillan Carruthers and fit again flanker Tim Barker handed Dungannon a 15-8 win at Stevenson Park.

Dungannon full back John McGuckin kicked the only points of the first half on 17 minutes as the Ulster side controlled possession but faltered in the final attacking third.

Flanker Gillan Carruthers was driven over by his forward colleagues six minutes after the restart to give the home side an eight-point buffer.

And Tim Barker, recently returned from injury, touched down in the left corner on 67 minutes to confirm the win.

Clontarf, well below par, gave Dungannon coach Jeremy Davidson some nervy final moments as out-half Dave McAllister got in between the home centres for a 78th minute try and the Dublin side plundered a bonus point with the last kick of the game from full back Darragh O'Shea, from 28 metres out.
