Ulster's recently-retired Wallaby wing Ryan Constable is the new Ireland Sevens coach.

The 32-year-old former Australian Seven-a-side skipper takes over from Ulsterman Denis McBride.

Constable will now have the job of assembling what quality players there are available to play in the European circuit in May.

Ireland must play in at least two tournaments to compile enough points to play in the World Cup Euro qualifiers.
