Rock back to winning ways
Blackrock 27 Dungannon 16
Blackrock broke a two-game losing streak against Dungannon at Stradbrook, as they came from behind to secure a three-try win that sees them move up to seventh in the table.
The visitors were hit by the withdrawal of centre Seamus Mallon to the Ulster squad, but his replacement in midfield Paul Magee continued his fine form of late, putting left wing Gillan Carruthers over in the corner early on for the lead.
Magee picked off his fourth try in four games in the 27th minute as Jeremy Davidson’s men controlled first half matters, leading 13-3 at the break.
Rock’s only reply had been through a Conor Kilroy penalty after 16 minutes but the home side burst into life in the second half with tries from right wing Michael Price, Portuguese hooker Pedro Fonseca and out-half Emmet Farrell to edge out Dungannon.
Dungannon's only second half score came from the boot of McGuckin.
Kilroy converted each Rock try in a fine performance and gave him an individual tally of 12 points.
