Springbok captain Corne Krige has announced his retirement from international action, preferring to spend more time with his family and a representative career with the Super 12 Stormers and his club Western Province.

Springbok captain Corne Krige has announced his retirement from international action, preferring to spend more time with his family and a representative career with the Super 12 Stormers and his club Western Province.

The 28-year-old flanker's resignation follows that of Springbok coach Rudi Straeuli, after a disastruous World Cup camapign.

Krige said: "I have made the decision to retire from international rugby. I have given this a lot of thought and have discussed things through with my wife and family and believe this is the right decision for me."
