Sunday washout means Munster clinch Interpro series

Munster clinched the 2004 U-19 Interprovincial Series after Sunday's play was cancelled because of a water-logged pitch.

The Women’s Under-19 Interprovincial Series, sponsored by Madigan’s Pub, Donnybrook kicked off in Malahide RFC, Dublin on Saturday, and Munster held on to clinch the title by virtue of having beaten both Leinster and Ulster.

Leinster captured the silver medals with Ulster finishing in third.

Munster began strongly and overwhelmed a brave Ulster side 12-0 in the opening game of the tournament, before shading Leinster in a tensely fought encounter 3-0.

However Leinster rallied in the final game on Saturday and a late try sealed an impressive 5-0 win over Ulster.
