Barnhall keep pace with leaders - round-up

Barnhall clocked up their sixth win of the season on the Celbridge Road as they walloped bottom-side Sunday’s Well 48-7 in a seven-try showing.

Two tries for both flanker Riaan Erasmus and Eoin Burke set them up for the victory, with centre Gary Browne, left wing Brendan Burke and lock Cian O'Mangan getting the others.

The Kildare side sit in second place, a point adrift of leaders Old Belvedere, who defeated Midleton 10-5 in Cork.

Elsewhere Young Munster missed out on the chance to leapfrog Dublin University, whose game with Thomond was postponed until January 31, as they lost 23-13 at home to tenth-placed Malone.

Bective continued their impressive run of pre-Christmas as they held out for a 18-13 win over Old Crescent at Rosbrien.

Fergal Campion, scorer of a penalty and a conversion in their 10-6 win over UL Bohs last time out, put in another man-of-the-match performance with eight points.

Terenure also lost ground on the leaders as UCC won out 25-20 at Lakelands.
