London Irish are counting the cost of a bruising Zurich Premiership battle with Wasps which has sidelined three key forwards for tomorrow’s clash against play-off rivals Northampton.
Prop Rob Hardwick (knee), flanker Declan Danaher (leg) and number eight Chris Sheasby (calf) will all miss the Madejski Stadium encounter.
“Last Saturday’s game against Wasps was the most physical we have played this season to date, with the result that our medical department has had a busy week,” said Irish coach Gary Gold.
“Despite their best efforts, we have lost a number of key players for this important match against Northampton.
“Having lost to Wasps last weekend, we want to return to winning ways on Sunday, but that will be difficult, as always, against a very talented Northampton team.”
Pierre Durant, Michael Haslett and Phil Murphy are the respective deputies drafted in by Gold.
Irish and Northampton are locked together on 36 points, with Irish currently holding a play-off spot behind Bath and Wasps.
