Belvedere go top of the pile
Old Belvedere top the Division Two table in the AIB League following a five-try 29-5 thrashing of Young Munster, while former leaders UL Bohemians suffered their second loss of the campaign, going down 10-6 to Bective in Donnybrook.
Bohs could only offer two penalties from the boot of Ian Costello to Bective’s try, conversion and penalty from Fergal Campion.
With wet and windy conditions around the country, both Terenure (3rd) and Barnhall (2nd) enjoyed away success with the Dubliners taking a potential second win of the season away from bottom club Sunday’s Well at Musgrave Park, eventually winning 28-22.
Kildare-based Barnhall gave away a bonus point to Malone but came through 20-14 at Gibson Park.
Elsewhere Waterpark score three tries to beat out Dublin University 21-20 at home, and there were also home victories in the Division for UCC (21-16 v Midleton) and Ballynahinch.
The Ulster side built on last weekend’s 25-20 victory over UCC, with a 22-16 success for their third win of the season, over fourth-from-bottom DLSP.
