Borders drop citing

The Borders have withdrawn their citing of Ulster prop Rob Kempson because the Irish side have agreed to deal with the matter internally.

The South Africa international was involved in a clash with Borders flanker Dan Kane in last Friday’s Celtic League encounter.

Borders coach Tony Gilbert said: “[Ulster coach] Alan Solomons and I discussed the issue and I agreed to let Ulster handle the matter in-house.

“The coaching staff at Ulster have now seen the video, which shows the incident in question, and they have acknowledged the incident and the individuals concerned. Alan Solomons has said that Ulster will discipline the player; I trust him to do so and The Borders have withdrawn the citing on that basis.”
