Freedom of Rugby for World Cup side

England’s Word Cup-winning rubgy team are to be given the Freedom of the Borough which gave the sport its name.

Rugby Borough Council said the decision to bestow the honour on Clive Woodward’s squad would be rubberstamped at a meeting on December 15.

A ceremony to honour the team is now being planned in conjunction with Rugby School and will take place early next year, although the date has not yet been finalised.
