Galwey signs for Kilkenny
Former Ireland captain Mick Galwey is to play out the remaining days of a glorious rugby career with Leinster Junior club Kilkenny.
The former Munster, Ireland and Lions star will retain his links with Shannon by registering as a dual-status player.
He may, in exceptional circumctances be called on for the All-Ireland league and Munster Senior Cup.
Shannon coach Geoff Moylan said: "Galwey has been an outstanding servant to club rugby and especially Shannon. The enormity of his personality and ability will benefit a small club like Kilkenny".
