Australia have overtaken Ireland in the IRB World Rankings thanks to their dramatic one-point victory over Eddie O’Sullivan’s men on Saturday.

The Wallabies now lie in third spot while Ireland slip to fifth behind France – who have benefited from the weight the ranking system attaches to World Cup matches.
