Two tries in the lead up to the break means Argentina lead minnows Romania by 24-0 at half-time in their Pool A encounter at Aussie Stadium.

Fly half, Juan Hernandez Miranda, converted his own try on 29 minutes after he put a grubber kick through the Romanian defence to touch down.

Ten minutes later, Manuel Contepomi latched on to a Romanian mistake at the scrum to score an opportunist try.

Miranda converted and scored a penalty in between the tries.
