Greenwood set to return home

Will Greenwood is set to return home tomorrow after being given compassionate leave from England’s World Cup camp.

The Harlequins centre will leave Perth to be with his wife Caro, who, it is understood, is experiencing difficulties with her second pregnancy.

It is thought that Greenwood, England’s try hero in the 25-6 victory over South Africa today, will be away for a week and will not be considered for next Sunday’s Pool C clash against Samoa in Melbourne.

Official confirmation of Greenwood’s departure is expected from World Cup organisers in the next few hours.

It would appear that he will rejoin the England squad in Brisbane later this month, ahead of the final group game against Uruguay.
