Wallabies lead Pumas at half-time

Australia lead Argentina 14-3 at half-time in today's World Cup opener at the Telstra Stadium in Sydney.

Elton Flatley put the Australians into the lead after just six minutes with a penalty, and a second penalty on 15 minutes increased the Wallabies' lead.

After 20 minutes the Pumas were ripped apart by some incisive attacking and Wendell Sailor finished off a brilliant move for the first try of the tournment.

A penalty by Felipe Contepomi on 27 minutes got the Pumas off the mark, although he missed two in the first half.

And with the final kick of the first half Elton Flatley increased Australia's lead once again.
