Argentina coaches Marcelo Loffreda and Daniel Baetti have included full-back Ignacio Corleto in the line-up to play Australia in the Rugby World Cup opening match on Friday.

Corleto suffered an abdominal muscle strain last week and it was uncertain if he would be fit to face the Wallabies in Sydney’s Telstra Stadium, but the Pumas coaches have given him the go-ahead.

Also included in the starting line-up is Leinster’s Felipe Contepomi, who gets the vote at fly-half ahead of Gonzalo Quesada and will play alongside his brother, centre Manuel.

“The anxiety grows as we get closer to the match,” said Felipe. “We have all been waiting and we all want to give our best.

“The Wallabies are one of the best teams in the world but lately they haven’t been at their best.

“But we can’t make any mistakes against them and will have to take advantage of every chance they give us.”

Replacements: Federico Mendez, Mauricio Reggiardo, Rimas Alvarez, Martin Durand, Nicolas Fernandez Miranda, Gonzalo Quesada, Juan Martin Hernandez.
