Vass moves to France

Former Northampton scrum-half Ian Vass has signed a two-year contract to play for French outfit Stade Francais next season.

Vass met fierce competition for the number nine shirt at Franklin’s Gardens from former England skipper Matt Dawson and has decided to develop his game with the French National Champions.

The 21-year-old will be remembered by Saints fans for his superb solo try during the 25-11 victory over Cardiff in last season’s Heineken Cup.
