Jonah Lomu’s kidney function has deteriorated to such an extent that the legendary All Blacks winger was been forced to begin renal dialysis treatment.

The 28-year-old was diagnosed as having nephrotic syndrome, a rare and serious kidney disorder, at the end of 1996 and has undergone regular treatment for the condition since.
