John banned over Jones incident

Llanelli have punished prop Phil John over an incident involving Neath’s Duncan Jones which left him with facial injuries.

John has been banned from playing for the club for the rest of the season after an incident in the Welsh Premiership game between the clubs on Saturday.

John, who the club said had shown remorse over the incident, has also been ordered to apologise in writing to Jones and Welsh rugby supporters, donate his match fee to a charity of Jones’ choice and serve two weeks with Llanelli RFC community initiative during his summer holiday entitlement.

John will also not be selected for the remainder of the season.
