Tigers land Welshman Morris
Leicester today announced their second international signing in two days by recruiting Wales and Lions prop Darren Morris.
The 28-year-old will link up with the Tigers from Swansea, beefing up Leicester’s front row resources.
The Tigers recently saw Perry Freshwater sign for French club Perpignan while his fellow props Franck Tournaire and Darren Garforth also will not be around next season, with Tournaire having been released and Garforth set to announce his retirement.
Morris made his Wales debut against Australia in 1998, but has experienced some difficult times since the Lions tour of Australia two years ago.
He has struggled with both form and fitness, and proved unable to attract the attention of Wales coach Steve Hansen.
Leicester though, clearly feel that he can do a job for them, and news of his arrival comes just 24 hours after Tigers landed Italian international fly-half Ramiro Pez from Rotherham.
