Dungannon enjoy stylish win over Con
Dungannon 56 Cork Con 33
Dungannon rounded off their season in style, giving their sun-kissed supporters something to smile about with an eight-try show at Stevenson Park.
The fact that they conceded five mattered little as the Tyrone men made absolutely certain that they would survive in the top flight.
David Humphreys, making his first club appearance of the season, posted a 26-points tally, including a try and a blemish-free conversion count of eight from eight.
Dungannon were 21-0 ahead inside the opening 10 minutes, with Bryn Cunningham, Andrew Hughes and Kieran Campbell all going in to score.
Cork hit back with the first two of scrum half Pat McCarthy's hat-trick of tries, but Tyrone Howe ran in for a soft intercept score on the stroke of half-time to give the home side a 28-12 interval lead.
Dungannon started the second half as they had the first, Humphreys and Howe both scoring to open up a 30 points gap, but Con never gave up, and with a little help from some slack defending, got in for further tries from McCarthy, Rory Kenneally and Derek Dillon.
But the Tyrone men were always dangerous, and wrapped up a handsome victory with scores from Jan Cunningham and Aidan Kearney.
