Carlow take step towards survival

Co Carlow 31 UCD 18

Co Carlow ran in four tries, two in each half, to take all four points and a bonus point with this win at Oakpark Grounds.

Having trailed 18-16 at half-time a storming second half by the home side produced a penalty, two tries, one converted.

UCD had recovered from a very poor start, and first-half tries from full-back Darren McKenna and forward David Blaney gave them a narrow half-time lead.

But Carlow's second half performance means that their hopes of first division survival are very much arrive.
