IRFU apologises to Mary McAleese

The President of the IRFU Don Crowley has written to Mary McAleese to apologise for the red carpet mix-up before yesterday's Six Nations clash with England at Lansdowne Road.

He apologised for the "embarrassing position in which she was placed by the failure of the England team to follow established and communicated protocol" during the presentation of the teams before the game..
