St Mary’s could never shake off a dogged Belfast side in a game that was marred by basic errors by both teams.

Tries by Conor McPhillips and Mark McHugh helped the home side to a 15-13 half-time lead.

But Brent Pope’s side could only manage a penalty by Barry Lynn in the entire second half as Ajay Derwin’s penalty and Coulter’s late drop goal gave Harlequins all four points.
