Daniel set for Bristol return

Brendon Daniel has recovered from the broken thumb which has kept him out for eight weeks and is in line to return for Bristol Shoguns’ in their Zurich Premiership clash with Gloucester at the Memorial Stadium on Sunday.

The former Saracens and Harlequins winger, who has scored seven Premiership tries this season, is eager to impress coach Peter Thorburn in training.

Daniel is pressing for a starting place after injuring his thumb in his two-try scoring performance during the 30-22 away win over French side Montferrand in the Heineken Cup.

Thorburn told the club’s website: “Brendon is back in training and he’s made a full recovery. He’ll be under consideration for Sunday.”
