Clontarf show class against Carlow
Co Carlow 10 Clontarf 32
AIL Division One leaders Clontarf showed their class as they steamrolled Co Carlow to take four league points plus a bonus point form this match at Oak Park, Carlow.
Clontarf's talented out-half David Hewitt, scorer of one of his side's four tries, was the game's outstanding player.
The Dublin side, on a first ever visit to Carlow, deservedly led 17-07 at half-time.
In the second half the league leaders stamped their class on the match, playing some superb rugby which paid off with scoring dividends.
The winner's full-back Darragh O'Shea top-scored with a try, three conversions and two penalties.
While Clontarf consolidated their place at the top of the league table, Co Carlow remain anchored in the danger zone and will do well to maintain their top flight status.
