Jones lift for Wales

Wales have received a major boost ahead of next week’s RBS 6 Nations Championship clash against Scotland with Llanelli fly-half Stephen Jones rejoining the squad.

Jones missed the appointments with Italy and England after breaking his thumb in a club game.

But he had the plaster cast removed yesterday, and has now linked up with the Wales squad at their training camp.

Jones, a proven Test match goalkicker and quality fly-half performer, will be in contention for the Murrayfield encounter on Saturday week.

Iestyn Harris replaced him when Wales lost in Rome 12 days ago, while Pontypridd’s Ceri Sweeney took over for the England game last weekend.

Jones’ Llanelli colleague, wing Mark Jones, is definitely ruled out of the Edinburgh trip though, due to concussion.
