Ballmena take game of two halves

Ballymena 41 UCD 23

It was a quintessential game of two halves at Eaton Park today as Ballymena keep up the pace behind Clontarf at the top of Div 1.

UCD found themselves 16-5 ahead at the end of the first half through an early try by scrum half Brian O'Riordan, and a conversion and three penalties by Eoghan Hickey.

Ireland U-21 second row Matt McCullough grabbed Balymena's try.

The second half was a completely different story as Tony D'Arcy's Ballymena went on the rampage.

Tries by McCullough, Ulster number 8 Russell Nelson, club captain Derrick Topping and full back Scott Young gave Ballymena the win.
