Carlow hold on for tight win

Co Carlow 22, Garryowen 18

Co Carlow recorded their third AIL Div 1 win at Oak Park by beating Munster vistors Garryowen 22-18.

The home side fully merited their win. They led 15-3 at half time, courtesy of first-half tries from left wing Ian Dwyer and South African player coach Dan van Zyl who ran the length of the field to touch down just before half time.

Carlow led 22-6 with six minutes remaining but a brace of Garryowen tries from out-half Dernot O'Sullivan and replacement David Wallace made for a tight finish, with Carlow hanging on for victory.
