Belfast get campaign back on track
Belfast Harlequins 26 Co Carlow 16
Belfast Harlequins got their Division One campaign back on track with a four-try victory over struggling Co Carlow at a rain-soaked Deramore Park today.
Quins had to battle hard for a 12-10 lead at the break, thanks to tries by Andy Emerson and Roger Wilson after the visitors had taken the lead with an Andy Melville try. It was converted by Dan van Zyl, who also landed a penalty.
Quins stretched their lead with a try by Ross Collins after the restart but two penalties by van Zyl cut the deficit.
However, a penalty try - for collapsing a scrum - in the 76th minute sealed the contest for the home side.
