Munster triumph on home ground
Munster 42 Ulster 10
Munster outscored 14-man Ulster five tries to one at Thomond Park tonight to reach the Celtic League final for the second year in a row.
Ulster were up against it in the 10th minute when prop Justin Fitzpatrick was sent off for throwing punches at Anthony Foley with Munster just 3-0 ahead.
But the home side made their extra man count, despite losing Donncha O’Callaghan, Frank Sheahan and Alan Quinlan to the sin bin at various stages.
They ran in tries from John Hayes, Quinlan and John Kelly to lead 28-3 at half-time.
Mike Mullins and sub Mick Galwey added to the tally in the second half as David Humphreys rescued Ulster pride with a try and conversion to add to his first-half penalty.
Munster will play Neath or Cardiff in the final.
