Ulster will travel to Thomond Park on Friday night looking to go one better than last year when their arch rivals from Munster knocked them out of the Celtic League at the semi-final stage.

David Humphreys will captain the Ulster side with Andy Ward starting on the bench having recovered from a knock that had left some fluid in a joint in his foot.

Shane Stewart and Adam Larkin form the centre partnership with both Johnny Bell and Ryan Constable ruled out through injury.

Scrum-half Neil Doak has recovered from the knock that saw him leave the field in the second-half of the warm-up match against the Celtic Warriors last week.

The pack shows only one change from that which started the match against the Celtic Warriors. Gary Longwell returns after Solomons had decided not to risk his shoulder in the warm-up match, while Mark Blair moves to the bench.

Ulster: Bryn Cunningham; James Topping; Shane Stewart; Adam Larkin; Sheldon Coulter; David Humphreys (Captain); Neil Doak; Justin Fitzpatrick; Matt Sexton; Robbie Kempson; Gary Longwell; Jeremy Davidson (Vice-Captain); Warren Brosnihan; Neil McMillan; Tony McWhirter. Replacements: Simon Best; Paul Shields; Mark Blair; Andy Ward; Kieran Campbell; Jan Cunningham; Scott Young.
