Ballymena’s Ulster contingent were out in their numbers to give the Eton Park side this easy victory and their third successive win in this year’s AIB competition.

Tries from Ulster hooker Paul Shields, second row Matt McCullough, full-back Matty Waterhouse, South African centre Huw Jones and Australian out-half Alan Larkin gave Ballymena a bonus point and secured their position at the top of the table.

Carlow’s six points came from two first-half penalty kicks from Dan Van Zyl and Michael Swetman.
