Dungannon fail to impress
Clontarf 23 Dungannon 13
Despite the return of former Lions second-row Jeremy Davidson, Dungannon failed to impress at Castle Avenue.
Having led 10-0 through a converted Justin Fitzpatrick try, and Mark Armstrong penalty, they then lost their way with Clontarf twice crossing their line.
Hoooker, Bernard Jackman scored under the posts just after the half-hour, and then the two Clontarf centres, James Downey and Daragh McElligott, combined to send out-half Dave Hewitt over.
Clontarf led 17-13 at the break and added two more kicks from Daragh O’Shea to bring his total to 13.
