Blackrock weathered early sporadic St Mary’s pressure with a resolute performance in near-perfect conditions in Tembpleville Road.

Tormentor-in-chief was Blackrock’s out-half Emmet Farrell who rounded off an impressive display with three penalties and a conversion. His kicking was a treat, his vision a job to be hold.

John McWeeney brace and tries from Conor McPhillips and Eoin Keane could not halt Blackrock’s momentum.

The impressive Gary Brown (2), Tom O’Donoghue and Malcolm Cuffe all crossed over for ‘Rock. But it was Farrell’s display that was ultimately the difference between the two.
