Burke set to start

Matt Burke is set to be fit enough to take over the troubled number 15 jersey for Australia against Ireland at Lansdowne Road on Saturday.

Burke sustained a calf injury in last weekend's Test against Argentina.

However, he has been training today with the Wallaby squad at their Portmarnock headquarters and has been given a good chance of playing by coach Eddie Jones.

"Matt is pretty confident of playing and he ran at 60-70% today, which is encouraging," said Jones.

But Jones is facing more injury problems as back-rower David Lyons is still suffering from a long-standing thigh complaint.

Lyons did not train today but it looks increasingly likely that he will be risked in the starting line-up.

Mat Rogers' rib cartilage problems are still causing concerns and the player now looks doubtful for the England Test at Twickenham Saturday week.
