Charity match to be a winner

Some of the leading lights of Irish rugby will come together this weekend to contest a charity match featuring the cream of Leinster schools rugby.

Jesuit schools (Gonzaga, Belvedere and Clongowes Wood College) will take on the Holy Ghost schools (Blackrock, St Michael's, St Mary's and Tempelogue) at Donnybrook on October 18 in aid of the Philip Quinlan Appeal Fund.

As well as providing a showcase for the season ahead in schools' rugby, the match is in aid of a very worthy cause.

Philip Quinlan, a past pupil of Gonzaga College was a keen cricketer, golfer and rugby player until a tragic accident in 1999, which means he is confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life.
