Shields joins Ireland squad

Ulster’s Paul Shields has been nominated to fill the vacancy as hooker in the Ireland team replacements panel for Saturday’s Permanent TSB international at Thomond Park.

The Ballymena man replaces Shane Byrne, who had been moved up to the team following the withdrawal of Keith Wood, because of the death of his brother Gordon.
