Wallabie winger to face doping tribunal

The Australian Rugby Union have ordered winger Ben Tune to attend an Independent Anti-Doping Tribunal in Sydney next Monday.

The Australian Rugby Union have ordered winger Ben Tune to attend an Independent Anti-Doping Tribunal in Sydney next Monday.

Tune tested positive for the banned substance Probenecid last season and, consequently, sat out four Super 12 matches.

It has been claimed that it was mistakenly administered by a doctor in reaction to Tune's knee injury in March.

Should Tune escape with just a reprimand or fine, as would seem likely, he would then be free to fly to South Africa and be available for a potential Tri-Nations decider against the Springboks in Johannesburg on August 17.

Wallaby prop Patricio Noriega is already out of that game with a middle ear infection.

He has been replaced by Nick Stiles in the 26-man squad.
