Saints reel in All Blacks winger
Northampton have signed All Blacks winger Bruce Reihana on a two-and-half-year contract.
The versatile 26-year-old will join the Zurich Premiership club in November after completing his season in New Zealand with Waikato Chiefs.
Reihana, who qualifies as an EU player through a French passport, is the Saints’ fourth new signing following the capture of Steve Williams, Oriol Ripol and Simon Hepher.
Saints head coach Wayne Smith said: ‘‘I wanted to reinforce the back three and I was looking for someone with true pace, good ball skills and a good tryscoring rate. I also wanted to bring another goal-kicker into the team.
‘‘Bruce has played at full-back and wing for the Chiefs and the All Blacks, but also at fly-half for the New Zealand Maoris and at centre for the New Zealand Under-21s.
‘‘He is a versatile player who has been in great form of late.’’
Reihana is the Chiefs’ most-capped player with over 50 Super 12 appearances to his name.
England tourist Robbie Morris has also agreed a new three-year contract at Franklin’s Gardens.
