Dyson decides against Munster move

Munster target Fletcher Dyson has decided against a move to Europe and signed a new two-year deal with Australian Super 12 side the Queensland Reds.

The 29-year-old tight-head prop turned down a attractive offer from the Irish province to remain with the Super 12 semi-finalists in a bid to kick-start his international career.

Dyson won 10 caps for Australia in 2000 and is anxious to win his place back in the Wallabies squad in time for the 2003 World Cup.

He said: ‘‘I desperately want to win a Super 12 and I am determined to play for the Wallabies again, so going overseas was not the right decision for me.

‘‘I want to give myself every chance of being part of the 2003 World Cup campaign.’’
