New Zealand too much for Fiji
New Zealand 68-18 Fiji Test match, Wellington
Fullback Christian Cullen scored three tries to become New Zealand's top test try-scorer as the All Blacks beat Fiji 68-18 on Saturday.
Cullen, recalled after missing both matches against Ireland earlier this month, took his tally to 46 to overtake the recently retired Jeff Wilson by one.
But his joy was tempered by All Blacks concern over centre Tana Umaga and his replacement Leon MacDonald, who were both injured.
Umaga suffered a recurrence of a left knee problem after 20 minutes and is a doubt for the opening Tri-series match against Australia in two weeks.
MacDonald was carried off on a stretcher, blood pouring from an eye wound, after clashing heads with Fijian flanker Kole Sewabu in the 56th minute. Sewabu also left the field.
All Black prop Kees Meeuws and lock Norm Maxwell scored two tries each, while right wing Norman Ligairi scored both tries for Fiji, one a brilliant tiptoe along the touchline as he rounded Jonah Lomu and the other an intercept and 60-metre dash to the line.
