Shannon won their fifth All Ireland League title with a deserved victory over last year's beaten finalists Cork Constitution at Lansdowne Road.

The Limerick side played with a strong wind in the first half and led 13-0 after nine minutes following two Tom Cregan penalties and the conversion of Colm McMahon's try.

John Kelly scored a Con try, converted by Brian O'Meara, to make it 15-7, only for John Lacey to grab a second Shannon try eight minutes before the break.

Con made a great fight of it in the sceond half, with Brian O'Meara kicking a penalty and converting Joey Sheahan's try to make it 18-17.

A late drop goal by Niall McNamara sealed victory for Shannon.
